Now in its eighth year, Bookstore Romance Day is a celebration of all things bookish and romantic. The Square Books family of stores has a fun-packed schedule of activities that’s guaranteed to get your heart racing, including:
- Scavenger hunt – Twelve famous couples from literature, history, science, and more will be hiding across Square Books, Off Square Books, and Square Books Jr. Find them all and be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize!
- Meet Your Matcha – Matchbox Matcha will be serving their delicious Matcha Blush in the cafe from 4 to 5 pm.
- Crafting in the cafe – Pop by the Square Books cafe anytime during the day to make your very own origami heart bookmark (paper and instructions provided).
- Raffle draw – Buy any romance (or romance adjacent) book in-store on the day and enter a prize draw to win SWAG.*
- Cool stuff – Keep your love for the beautiful game alive with a free custom branded purple stress soccer ball with the purchase of any Ana Huang title—including pre-orders for the latest in her Gods of the Game series, The Keeper, released October 27.
* Customers must be present at the time of the raffle draw to win prizes. One raffle entry per purchase. Multiple entries allowed with multiple purchases. Qualifying purchases must be made in-store on Saturday, August 15 ONLY. Raffle draw will be held at 5 pm in the Square Books cafe.
Launched in 2019, and led by booksellers from independent bookstores, Bookstore Romance Day is a day designed to give independent bookstores an opportunity to celebrate Romance fiction—its books, readers, and writers—and to strengthen the relationships between bookstores and the Romance community.
