The Oxford School District is delighted to announce Aaron Getz as the new Director of Information Technology (IT). Getz brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He has served the district for 11 years, most recently as the Assistant Director of Information Technology.
In his new role, Getz will oversee the district’s technology programs and services that support both classroom learning and daily operations. He will lead the coordination of technology systems in administrative operations and the district’s long-range planning for effective use of technology across instructional and administrative programs. His leadership will ensure continued access to secure, reliable technology, and technological support for students and staff.
“I can’t imagine anyone being more qualified or prepared to be the Director of Information Technology than Aaron Getz. Aaron has a proven track record and is respected by his colleagues as a true professional. I am excited to see how Aaron leads this department into the future,” said Dr. Steve Hurdle, Oxford School District Chief Operations Officer.
Getz follows Mike Fortenberry, who now serves as the district’s Director of Project Management and Operational Efficiency.
Getz joined the Oxford School District in 2014 and has been an instrumental part of the IT Department since. His expertise and deep understanding of district technology operations have equipped him to successfully guide the department’s continued growth and success.
He is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business information systems. He and his wife, Angie, have three daughters who attend Oxford School District and one son who is a future Oxford Charger.
The Oxford School District looks forward to the continued growth and success of its technology programs under Getz’s leadership.
