On July 18, 2021, Oxford Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of County Road 101 for a reported disturbance. Upon their arrival, they found a male victim suffering from non life threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Alvis McJunkins, 37, of Oxford, Mississippi for Felony Aggravated Assault.
McJunkins was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and his bond was set at $10,000 by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
