The Lafayette County Master Gardener Association (LCMGA) is sponsored and directed by Mississippi State University Extension. Through this program, individuals receive forty hours of on-line training on a wide variety of gardening and landscape topics. After completing the training, new members complete forty hours of service to earn their certification. Members provide twenty hours of volunteer service and obtain twelve hours of educational training annually to maintain their certification.
Register at MSUext.MS/mg before September 10. No late registration is accepted. The next class begins on October 1, 2025. Information can be found by clicking here or searching for Publication 3592 at Master Gardeners.
The Master Gardener Volunteer program is a great way to gain gardening expertise at a low cost, meet other enthusiastic gardeners, share gardening experiences, reach out to the community, and promote research based gardening.
