Former Ole Miss athletes, mental health professionals, and local wellness organizations come together for an afternoon of connection, resources, and hope
Intended for Good will return to Oxford on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the SJB Pavilion at Ole Miss, bringing together the LOU community for an afternoon focused on mental health, wellness, connection, and hope.
Held during Ole Miss Homecoming weekend, the free event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a Health & Wellness Fair, featuring local mental health providers, wellness organizations, community resources and fitness studios.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with organizations serving individuals and families throughout the Oxford-Lafayette-University community.
The afternoon will continue with a special program featuring powerful stories from former Ole Miss student-athletes and local mental health professionals, exploring mental health, resilience, identity, adversity and the importance of having support both during life’s challenges and beyond them.
David Kellum, the “Voice of the Rebels,” will help kick off the program, followed by a panel led by Elizabeth Fikes and featuring former Ole Miss student-athletes Kyla McLaurin, C.J. Moore and Joseph “JoJo” Tann, along with Dr. Nick McAfee, a psychologist and Director of the William Magee Center.
This year’s Intended for Good event will also mark the launch of Rebel Hope Alliance, a new mental health resource designed to support former Ole Miss student-athletes and their immediate families. Available to these athletes and their families for life, the initiative ensures that support for the Rebel family extends far beyond their years of collegiate athletics.
Intended for Good: the Stonewater Council for Youth, seeks to spark meaningful conversations around mental health, reduce stigma, strengthen communities and remind individuals and families that they do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
The event is free and open to the public, and families, Ole Miss students, alumni and community members of all ages are encouraged to attend.
Adding to the Homecoming weekend atmosphere, Connie’s Chicken will provide vouchers for a free chicken biscuit and donut to the first 1,000 attendees.
Intended for Good is made possible through the support of community partners and sponsors, including Blackburn Group and Connie’s Chicken, whose support helps make the event accessible to the entire community.
