One of Oxford’s favorite wintertime events, the Oxford Indoor Yard Sale, returns Saturday, February 28, from 9 am – 1 pm at the Oxford Conference Center. Admission is $2 for adults; children aged 12 and under are admitted for free. The event is held rain or shine.
The Oxford Conference Center (OCC) is located at 102 Ed Perry Blvd, off of Sisk Ave.
Shoppers can browse some 40 booths featuring a wide array of items including children and adult clothes, toys, books, electronics, antiques, home furniture and furnishings, small appliances, and other home goods.
Lori Markle, who oversees the event, says the annual sale has become a community staple with all vendor booths completely booked. “We have limited vendor space, and we sell out faster each year.”
Applications for a booth in next year’s sale will be available this coming October 15th and are on a first-come basis. No date has been set the for the 2027 sale.
Oxford Conference Center Director, Micah Quinn, points out that the event is now regional, drawing shoppers from all over north Mississippi.
“We expect a large turn out; not only from Lafayette County but also our surrounding counties,” she notes.
“People are starting to finally get out and about after the ice storm, this is the perfect, affordable, family outing.”
First time vendor Jenny Hipp had this to say about the sale. “I have always wanted to do the yard sale, and I am so excited I got in this year.”
“I really don’t know what to expect, but I know this sale gets a lot of traffic. This will be a great opportunity to purge and make some extra money.”
Best of all, nothing gets thrown away. Any unsold items can be donated to Holding Hands Resale, a thrift store located at 1433 N Lamar Blvd.
