The Lafayette County court has granted the motion for an out-of-county jury selection to Timothy Herrington Jr., the suspected murderer of Ole Miss student Jimmy “Jay” Lee.
According to court documents, the judge has granted Herrington’s motion, which will allow the jury to be picked from Madison County.
In early February, Herrington was newly-indicted on a two-count capital murder charge connected to the death of Lee after Lee’s remains were identified.
The new trial date is set for December 1, 2025. The trial will take place in Oxford.

The venue for the trial has been moved to Madison County, also.
