The Oxford School District (OSD) has achieved the highest accountability score in its history for the 2024–2025 school year, earning 749 points on the state’s accountability model. This record-setting performance surpasses the district’s previous high score of 745 points in the 2015–16 school year, reflecting OSD’s ongoing commitment to excellence and continuous improvement as well as the extraordinary efforts of its students, teachers, and staff.
Continued Excellence
For the 11th consecutive year, OSD has earned an “A” rating from the Mississippi Department of Education, maintaining its status as one of the state’s top-performing districts. Since 2021, the district’s accountability score has steadily increased—rising from 704 points to 714 points, then to 732 points, and now reaching an all-time high of 749 points in 2024–2025. This achievement underscores the district’s dedication to ensuring that all students reach their highest potential.
“Superintendent Roberson and his team have adopted a model of continuous improvement and tirelessly executed on it. This is just one very significant result of that. The Board couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and that of our students!” said Board President Carter Myers.

A Culture of Continuous Improvement
District leaders credit these results to a relentless focus on continuous improvement, innovative instructional strategies, and targeted interventions designed to support every student. Improvement in OSD is not about one-time programs or short-term initiatives—it is about a disciplined approach to learning what works and what doesn’t. Through the use of Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, teachers, leaders, and even students regularly test strategies in short cycles, analyze data, and make adjustments to improve outcomes.
Each school develops annual scorecard goals aligned with the district’s strategic plan, ensuring that improvement is systemic rather than isolated. Professional learning communities meet consistently to study student work, track progress toward goals, and share practices across classrooms. This culture of improvement empowers teachers with resources, ongoing professional development, and data tools to refine instruction, while students are encouraged to take ownership of their growth.
“This achievement reflects our district’s belief that improvement is not about new programs but about changing the way we think and work together,” said Superintendent Bradley Roberson. “When teachers, leaders, and students use improvement science principles, we create the conditions for lasting success. I could not be more proud of our students, our staff, and the community that supports them every day.”
Looking Ahead
“The Oxford School District continues to demonstrate that excellence is not a one-time achievement but a sustained commitment,” said district leaders. “Through the hard work of our teachers and students, and the unwavering support of our families and community, OSD is moving forward and setting new standards for success.”
The Oxford School District thanks its educators, students, and community for their partnership in reaching this historic milestone and looks forward to even greater achievements in the years ahead.
