On May 15, 2025, the Oxford Police Department was notified by a Oxford school official of an incident. Investigators were notified and investigation was started.
The next day a warrant for 3 counts of Child Pornography was issued for Ja’Marius Ivy (18 of Oxford, Mississippi). He was taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
Ivy was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
