Oxford Police Department Makes Arrest in Aggravated Domestic Violence

The Oxford Police Department has arrested Ja’Riant Stokes (28 of Oxford, Mississippi) in connection with a domestic violence investigation. Stokes has been charged with Domestic Violence – Aggravated Assault following an incident on November 24, 2024, in the 1000 block of Burney Branch.

The victim reported being assaulted and choked during the altercation. After the investigation, a warrant was issued for Stokes’ arrest and he was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.

Stokes was taken before the Municipal Court Judge for his bond.
