On November 12, 2024 at approximately 6:48 am the Oxford Police Department responded to the 200 block of Herman Drive for a person who had been possibly shot.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures by OPD, Oxford Fire, and EMS, the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Herman Slack, 89, of Oxford, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.
This is still an ongoing investigation and further details could be released at a later date.
