There are few limits on subject matter, but please contact the editor with any questions or ideas.
Column-length articles typically run anywhere from 200 to 500 words. Some examples are band bios, press releases to promote an event or service, or announcements of any kind.
Longer features, such as interviews, in-depth news stories, movie, music, or other media reviews, opinion articles, etc. can run up to about 1500 words. Please contact the editor to discuss options for longer articles.
Photos or artwork:
The Local Voice encourages visual artists to contribute to the paper. We prefer to print original photos to accompany articles. We are also always on the lookout for pictures of local musicians, artists, business owners, etc. Please contact the editor for more information.
The writers’ deadline is always 10 am on the Monday before publication. Deadline for display ads is the 7pm on the Tuesday before publication. A publication schedule is available upon request.
