Holli’s Sweet Tooth to Close Location on Oxford, Mississippi Square

Holli Ratcliffe, owner of Holli’s Sweet Tooth in Oxford, Mississippi, announced Saturday, February 13th that she is closing her location on the Square.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Ratcliffe said, “The cost of doing business in general (including rent) has increased over the years to a point that makes business tough.”HollisSweetTooth-Candy

“There are many rumors about my landlord being the cause, let me say… my rent is not unreasonably high compared to downtown prices,” Holli continued. “We were at the end of a 3 year lease and had to make the hard decision whether or not to renew… unfortunately it just doesn’t work at that location or in it’s current business model anymore.”

Ratcliffe said that her heart is broken and finding another location is “complicated” and wouldn’t be easy.

Holli’s Sweet Tooth has been a local staple on the Oxford Square for the last nine years, and it has been a popular go-to destination for parents and children alike. The store serves all kinds of tasty, delicious sweets, including candy, cookies, ice cream, floats, cakes, and other desserts.

Ratcliffe plans to keep her business open at the current location through Double Decker Festival weekend, April 22-23, 2016. The Local Voice Ligature
