On July 25, 2021, at approximately 9:20 am, the Oxford Police Department responded to The Greens Apartments for a report of a male who was found unconscious behind a building.
The male was later identified to be Jonathan Turner, 23, of Pope, Mississippi. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a vehicle was broken into. Turner was charged with Auto Burglary with other charges pending.
He was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Turner was issued a $10,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
