On March 30, 2024, the Oxford Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Jackson Avenue for a DUI investigation. During the stop, the officer was informed of guns in the vehicle, that were later identified as stolen. Kobe Dewayne Bady, 24, of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Qwantavious Deshun Goree, 25 of Shannon, MS were both charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
Bady and Goree were each taken before a Municipal Court judge for an initial bond hearing and each received a $15,000 bond.
