On August 12, 2025, a detective with the Oxford Police Department took a sexual assault report.
After speaking with the victim and other witnesses, the suspect was identified as Everett Collins, 40, of Sardis, Mississippi. Collins was detained and taken into custody.
Collins was charged with Statutory Rape and Child Molestation. Collins was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
