On April 9, 2024, the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence for a standby/escort while the caller retrieved property. The caller noticed that some property and currency was missing. After investigation, Tonya Murphree, 56, of Oxford, Mississippi was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny.
Murphree was taken before a Municipal Court judge for her initial bond hearing and issued a $7,500 bond.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
