On Friday, January 22, the Oxford Police Department took a report of damage being done to a vehicle at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Old Taylor Road. Investigators were called to the scene and after the investigation, Amari Dyasia Burt (24 of Oxford, Mississippi), was arrested without incident.
Burt was arrested on a Felony Malicious Mischief charge for the damage done to the vehicle. A Lafayette County Justice Court judge issued Burt a $2,500 bond.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
