On March 15, 2023 the Oxford Police Department was dispatched to Effie Circle for a robbery.
After investigation, Ernest Sears, 22, Oxford, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with Robbery.
Sears was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $20,000 bond but the bond was revoked due to Sears being out on a previous felony bond.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
