On December 3, 2021, the Oxford Police Department took a burglary report where somebody broke into the victim’s house and stole several items. The victim had a video surveillance system with video of the individual.
Upon investigations, the Oxford Police Department was able to identify the individual as Joshua Flemons, 30, of Oxford, Mississippi. On December 4th, an officer with the Oxford Police Department arrested and charged Flemons with Burglary of a Dwelling.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on Flemons for probation violation.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
The Police Department has a community-oriented policing philosophy and provides around-the-clock patrols. Other services include crime prevention programs, such as Neighborhood Watch and D.A.R.E., as well as specialized units including Mounted Patrol, K-9 Unit, DUI Enforcement and the City Dispatch.
