Charles Scott Fortenberry, 53 years old of Oxford, Mississippi.
On May 10, 2025, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding a stolen trailer. The victim reported that they were missing a 12-foot single axel trailer on County Road 317.
While Deputies were taking this initial report, they received a second complaint about a separate missing 14-foot trailer near the initial residence.
An investigation then was conducted and it was determined that Charles Scott Fortenberry, 53 years old of Oxford, Mississippi, was responsible for stealing the two trailers. Fortenberry was arrested on Friday, May 16, 2025, and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
Fortenberry appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Saturday, May 17, 2025, was issued a $5,000.00 bond.
