On February 21st, 2024, the Oxford Police Department responded to a business in the 700 block of Sisk Avenue in reference to a fraudulent check. After investigation, Gavin Smith, 19, of Oxford, Mississippi was arrested for Uttering Forgery.
Smith was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $2,500 bond.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
