Oxford High School will present the 6th Annual Choir and Orchestra Masterworks Concert this Friday, March 20th, at 7:30pm in the Ava H. Bonds Auditorium at Oxford High School.
Each year, the ensembles come together to perform a major choral and orchestral masterwork—a large-scale piece that features vocal soloists and requires a wider variety of instruments than standard choir or orchestra concerts.

This year’s performance will feature Mozart’s Requiem in d minor. The concert is the culmination of months of hard work by Oxford High School’s choir and orchestra students. The choir is directed by Dr. Thomas Ardrey, and the orchestra is directed by Ceresa Caudill.
The Masterworks Concert Series has become a signature event for the Oxford High School fine arts programs, and its success has drawn recognition from music educators beyond Mississippi. Earlier this spring, Dr. Ardrey presented a session titled “Programming, Planning, and Performing Masterworks with High School Choirs” at the South Carolina Music Educators Association 2026 State Conference, where he shared strategies for bringing large-scale pieces to high school ensembles.
The presentation highlighted the success of Oxford High School’s Masterworks Concert Series, which continues this Friday.
The community is invited to attend and experience the performance. The concert is free and open to the public.
