On December 4, 2022, the Oxford Police Department took a walk in report regarding a theft at a business in the 2500 block of West Jackson Avenue.
After investigation, Jasmine Williams, 30, of Jackson, Mississippi, was arrested in Pike County on April 20, 2023. She was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center on April 25, 2023, and was charged with Grand Larceny and False Pretenses.
Williams was taken before a Lafayette County Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $5,000 bond.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
The Police Department has a community-oriented policing philosophy and provides around-the-clock patrols.
