Gunshots Lead to Arrest on South Lamar Boulevard in Oxford

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 12:47 am, Oxford Police Department officers were in the area of 2200 South Lamar Boulevard assisting with crowd control.

During that time, officers heard what appeared to be gunfire. Officers immediately moved to secure the scene, check for injured persons, and identify involved individuals.

One person was taken into custody. There are no reported injuries at this time.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and review video from nearby businesses and bystanders. Because this is an active investigation, no additional details are being released right now.
