The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) proudly announces that Drew St. John was officially sworn in as Commissioner for District II of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks on July 24, 2025. St. John took the oath of office in a ceremony at the MDWFP Headquarters building in Jackson, Mississippi, marking the beginning of his service in this position.
St. John is the founder and CEO of Deep South Precast and also founded New South Access & Environmental Solutions, where he continues to serve as a consultant. A graduate of Mississippi State University, he established the St. John Family Endowed Professorship in Wildlife Management and serves on the MSU Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Advisory Board. He was honored as the 2017 Alumni Fellow for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
An avid outdoorsman, St. John is active with the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership and the Wild Turkey Federation. He also serves as Chairman and Trustee of the Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund.

MDWFP Commissioners are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate to serve five-year terms. Commissioner St. John’s knowledge and expertise are deeply valued as he continues to serve the people of Mississippi as a leader in natural resource conservation.
