On July 28, 2021, officers from the Oxford Police Department responded to the 300 block of Country View for a report of a domestic dispute possibly involving a weapon. OPD dispatch advised that a female called and stated that she had been threatened by a male with a weapon.
Once officers arrived, Lee Smith, 28, of Oxford, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Smith was given a $10,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
