This National Teacher Assistants Appreciation Day, celebrated each year on the las Friday of September, Oxford School District celebrated the dedicated teacher assistants (TAs) who make an incredible impact on students and teachers every day.
From offering one-on-one support to guiding small group discussions and assisting with meaningful lessons and activities, teacher assistants provide a valuable role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly and students engaged.
There are 96 teacher assistants who serve across the Oxford School District, in early childhood settings, libraries, special education classrooms, and more. Their presence is especially impactful in early childhood classrooms, with 27 TAs at Oxford Early Childhood Center, and 38 at Bramlett Elementary School.
As part of the district’s broader effort to support all employees, teacher assistants have received significant pay increases—totaling 25% over the past two school years.
Oxford School District is grateful and proud of our teacher assistants, whose dedication, patience, and care brighten classrooms each day. They may not always be in the spotlight, but their impact is reflected in the growth, smiles, and achievements of our students. Their contributions are essential to the success of our district.
