On June 9, 2021, the Oxford Police Department took a report of a vehicle being stolen from a gas station on South Lamar Blvd. The vehicle was placed on the national database and later located on June 11th in Van Buren, Arkansas. Van Buren Police placed Dustin Crase, 37, of Oxford, Mississippi in custody.
Crase was charged by the Oxford Police Department for stealing the vehicle. Crase was transported by Crawford County Sheriff’s Department back to Oxford to be formally charged on September 30th.
Crase was issued a $2,500 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
The Police Department has a community-oriented policing philosophy and provides around-the-clock patrols. Other services include crime prevention programs, such as Neighborhood Watch and D.A.R.E., as well as specialized units including Mounted Patrol, K-9 Unit, DUI Enforcement and the City Dispatch.
