
Sami Elias, 67, of Lexington, Kentucky.
An officer from the Oxford Police Department received a call on November 5, 2024 from a business on West Jackson Avenue, concerning a man suspected of shoplifting from the business.
The store manager had noticed items missing, and decided to investigate. While investigating, the manager discovered Sami Elias, 67, of Lexington, Kentucky, had stolen items from the business totaling over $1,000.
Elias fled the scene and was taken into custody by the Williamson County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department and on April 20, 2025, was transported back to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
Elias was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Shoplifting. He was taken before a Municipal Court Judge for his initial bond hearing.
