Abbeville, Mississippi Woman Arrested for DUI 4th

On September 11, 2025, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on County Road 106.

During the course of the stop, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Crystal Lenea Gordon (Black female, 32 years old) of Abbeville, Mississippi, was driving under the influence.

Deputies took Gordon into custody, and she was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.

After further investigation was conducted, it was determined that Gordon had three previous DUI convictions in Mississippi.

Gordon was then charged with DUI 4th or greater. Gordon appeared before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge and was issued a $10,000 bond.

The Office of Sheriff is a four year term filled through an at-large election process. Duties of the Sheriff involve two primary areas; law enforcement of the county and administrative. The law enforcement duties are to keep the peace in Lafayette County while administrative duties consist primarily of serving as the county jailor. Due to the growth of Lafayette County, the Sheriff Department now employs 26 deputies working four 12 hour shifts.
