Sidney Jackson, 60 years old of Abbeville, Mississippi.
On May 23, 2025, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a Driver’s License Safety Checkpoint in the area of County Road 303.
The driver of a vehicle came through the checkpoint and Deputies saw an illegal substance in plain view inside of the vehicle. A probable cause search was then conducted and Deputies located a handgun.
As a result of the investigation, Sidney Jackson, 60 years old of Abbeville, Mississippi, was arrested and charged for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Jackson appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Friday and was issued a $5,000.00 bond. Jackson bond was revoked due to being out on a previous felony bond.
