Third annual charity scramble is set to play in Oxford for the first time
The University of Mississippi’s Dietary Supplements and Medical Cannabis master’s degree program has never had an endowment. A charity golf tournament in Oxford is setting out to start one. The Green Cup, now in its third year, tees off Friday, October 23, 2026, with an 8 am shotgun start at the University of Mississippi Golf Course. It is produced by Southern Hospitality Entertainment and benefits the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
The tournament is played as a four-person scramble. Every player tees off, the team plays the best ball, and everyone goes again. Registration is $750 for a full foursome and covers golf, two carts, a hot breakfast before the horn, a catered lunch after the round, drinks and snacks on the course, and a gift bag for every player. Because every team tees off at once, players come off the 18th green together, and the afternoon turns to an awards ceremony, raffle drawings, and the 19th Hole after party. Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, putting, and hole-in-one contests run alongside the round.
Where the money goes:
Every sponsorship of $1,500 or more sends $500 toward growing the first endowment for the Dietary Supplements and Medical Cannabis master’s degree program, and those sponsors are named in a press release about the endowment’s creation.
Sponsorships:
Sponsorships start at $750 and attach a company’s name to a specific part of the day, with signage on the course and recognition at the awards ceremony. Every level puts a company in front of the players, their guests, and the wider Oxford community on October 23. A sponsorship of $1,500 or more also includes a complimentary team in the tournament, on sponsorship spend alone.
“A tournament lasts one day. An endowment can last forever,” said Diesoul Blankenship of Southern Hospitality Entertainment. “The Ole Miss medical cannabis master’s program has never had one, and the businesses backing this year’s Green Cup are the ones starting it. Their names go on something that is still there long after the scorecards are put away.”
