“As Oxford continues to experience impact from the extreme winter weather including hazardous driving conditions, the University of Mississippi Oxford and regional campuses will remain closed Thursday (Jan. 18) and Friday (Jan. 19).
Severe winter weather and extreme cold temperatures in Oxford and the surrounding region have created hazardous roads and walkways that are now covered in a layer of ice.
To ensure the safety and well-being of our students returning to campus and to give our facilities teams time and space to clear ice from the campus, the university will delay the start of the spring semester from Monday, Jan. 22 to Thursday, Jan. 25.”
