It is a short, 29-minute thriller based on a <strong>Stephen King<\/strong> short story from the collection <strong><em>Everything&#8217;s Eventual<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The film is the newest work by <strong>Thad Lee<\/strong>, a local film maker whose body of work includes <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/25844329\" target=\"_blank\">Blue Mountain music videos<\/a>, a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/25768985\" target=\"_blank\">campy horror flick<\/a>, an experimental film about the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/231312746\" target=\"_blank\">Great American Eclipse<\/a> of 2017, and an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/25885446\" target=\"_blank\">Ace Atkins book trailer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can read an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/get-carried-away-at-the-drive-in-sunday-august-16\/\" target=\"_blank\">extensive interview with Thad here<\/a> as well as read more about the project and find link to Thad&#8217;s body of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/oxfordac.eventive.org\/schedule\/5f1a15ca77443f15c1f7f095\" target=\"_blank\">Get tickets for the show<\/a>, which will screen immediately prior to the 1994 hit <strong><em>Shawshank Redemption<\/em><\/strong>, another King adaptation, starring <strong>Morgan Freeman<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OFF to the Drive-In is a pop-up drive-in theater located at The Cannon Lot at 100 Thacker Loop. The lot opens at 8 pm, and the film will begin at 8:30 pm.
