(AP) \u2014 A federal judge has sentenced former narcotics agent <strong>Searn Lynch<\/strong> to two years&#8217; probation for lying to obtain prescriptions for pain medication.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">U.S. District Judge <strong>Neal B. Biggers Jr.<\/strong> sentenced Lynch on Tuesday in\u00a0Oxford. Court documents show prosecutors made no recommendation on a sentence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Lynch was fired from the\u00a0Oxford\u00a0Police Department after being charged with &#8220;doctor shopping&#8221; for prescription pain medicine. Court records show he was arrested on charges alleging that he got prescriptions from at least 17 doctors. He admitted to obtaining at least 831 doses of hydrocodone between 2005 and 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Lynch pleaded guilty in April to one count of obtaining prescription drugs by deception.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">He faced a maximum sentence of four years in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OXFORD, Miss.
