Oxford Pawn Shop<\/a><\/strong> announced that it has been named to the 2020 Top Shops list of Pawn Leaders Magazine<\/strong>. <\/em>This first-annual list was determined by votes from readers of the magazine, customers, and members of the public. The Top Shops designation is intended to recognize pawnshops who excel in the categories of leadership, marketing, and strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxford Pawn Shop opened in Oxford, Mississippi, in 1985 in a 400 square foot facility. Thanks to years of continued growth serving the community, it is now located in the heart of Oxford at 1350 North Lamar Boulevard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn 2017, my wife and I made the decision to purchase Oxford Pawn Shop from my father and continue the operation. While I have fond memories of sweeping the floors and cleaning the offered merchandise as the young son of the owner, what I truly love is the daily interaction with so many interesting people who have diverse needs,\u201d said Dallas Allgood<\/strong>, the second-generation owner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked if he was surprised by this designation from a national industry magazine, Allgood notes \u201cBeing named one of the top 10 pawnshops in all of North America was thrilling but I can\u2019t say it was surprising. We work hard every day to build lasting relationships in this community and when we asked them to vote for us, our customers were happy to share our story.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He says that while many of his customers need short term loans for personal needs, they\u2019re seeing an increasing number of small business owners who use their equipment or other collateral to reach their financial goals or even make payroll. It\u2019s this type of service to the community that he credits for the shop\u2019s strong reputation and growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe see customers from all over the area every week, not only for short-term loans, but also because we\u2019re known as the best place for firearms and ammunition,\u201d Allgood says. Their expanding market growth have him looking into opening a second store in nearby Pontotoc, Mississippi<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNorthern Mississippi is my family\u2019s home. I\u2019m proud to be a second-generation business owner here and hope to continue to build a business that I\u2019ll be proud to hand down to my own children someday.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
