Today the Mississippi Department of Health<\/strong> (MSDH) is reporting 675 new cases of COVID-19<\/strong> in Mississippi <\/strong>and 20* new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 26,567, with 1,059 deaths.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* 18 of these deaths occurred between May 5 and June 22, and were identified from death certificate reports.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently there are 513 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 206 people hospitalized for suspected COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

27 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities, and there are now 87 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
