GRAMMY Museum\u00ae Mississippi<\/a><\/strong> is excited to announce No Place Like Home: Songs From The Heart Of Mississippi<\/em><\/strong>, an online music series featuring performances by a number of Mississippi\u2019s finest singers and songwriters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 12-week series will premiere on the museum\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a> on Friday, May 22 at noon<\/strong> and continue each week throughout the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The No Place Like Home<\/em> series was developed during this time of social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi began reaching out to Mississippi writers and artists to request a song for the online series with the purpose of lifting spirits while continuing to raise awareness for the museum and its dedication to exploring the past, present, and future of music, including a focused spotlight on the deep musical roots of Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the performers who generously contributed a song in this effort include GRAMMY\u00ae Award-winning musicians Carl Jackson<\/strong>, The North Mississippi Allstars<\/strong>, Bobby Rush<\/strong>, Mac McAnally<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring these unprecedented times, we know that it\u2019s music that can continue to bring us together,\u201d said Emily Havens<\/strong>, executive director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. \u201cSo, we\u2019re thrilled to be able to continue to bring our patrons, Mississippi residents, and the music community across the country together through our No Place Like Home<\/em> series, and we thank those artists who have so generously donated their time to participate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opened in 2016, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is housed near the campus of Delta State University<\/strong>, home of the DMI Entertainment Industry Studies<\/strong> program.
