On May 9, 2020, officers with the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> took an auto burglary report, where a firearm, was stolen from a victim on Old Taylor Road<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, May 11, 2020, investigators began gathering video footage from the area and were able to identify two males identified as Tony Joyer<\/strong> (27 of Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>) and Eric Straussberger<\/strong> (32 of Camdenton, Missouri<\/strong>). Both males were seen later that afternoon around Old Taylor Road and taken into custody by investigators and officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators were able to determine where the stolen firearm went and obtained an arrest warrant for Demetrious Bogard<\/strong> (27 of Oxford). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit<\/strong> along with investigators and officers with the Oxford Police Department were able to locate Bogard at a motel in town. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony Joyer was charged with Auto Burglary and Possession, Sale, Transfer of Stolen Firearm; his bond was set at $5,000. Eric Straussberger was charged with Auto Burglary; his bond was set at $2,500. Demetrious Bogard was charged with Possession, Sale, Transfer of Stolen Firearm and narcotic charges unrelated to this investigation; his bond was set at $15,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mississippi Department of Corrections also placed a hold on Bogard. A Lafayette County Justice Court Judge set the bonds for all three individuals.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
