This past week has been full of uncertainty for so many in\nour community as this pandemic sweeps across the world causing disruption of our\ndaily lives. Many people are not sure how they will stay afloat as more and\nmore businesses close their doors, uncertain when they will be able to reopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hospitality industry has been hit hard and fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in 14 years, we didn\u2019t publish The Local Voice<\/em> as scheduled. Because we\noperate on advertising revenue, we\u2019ve been able to make the paper a free\nresource for our readers in Oxford, North Mississippi, and beyond. Obviously,\nwe can\u2019t in good conscience continue to solicit ad sales from business that are\nshut down or severely hobbled, and struggling. We feel that we have a duty to\nour community because we have this platform that allows us to reach a large\naudience. As such, we are committed to supporting local businesses by keeping\nour readers informed. We want to continue to provide news and information in a\ntimely manner. And we urge you to support your community. Spend a little extra\non takeout or delivery if you are able. Tip more than usual if you can. Every\nlittle bit counts right now, and hopefully, before we know it this crazy time\nwill be in the past, and our community will be stronger than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We, like so many of our beloved friends in the food and beverage and entertainment industries, are a small, locally owned family business. Let\u2019s all hold each other up through this. Be kind, be safe, and stay healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
