{"id":85251,"date":"2020-03-12T15:38:06","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T20:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=85251"},"modified":"2020-03-13T01:23:11","modified_gmt":"2020-03-13T06:23:11","slug":"oxford-film-festival-announces-postponement-of-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/oxford-film-festival-announces-postponement-of-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"The Oxford Film Festival is Postponed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Oxford Film Festival<\/strong> Board of Directors and staff announced today that because of public health concerns regarding the <strong>coronavirus (COVID-19)<\/strong>, the <strong>2020 Oxford Film Festival<\/strong>, scheduled for March 18\u201322, has been postponed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sparky Reardon<\/strong>, chair of the Oxford Film Festival board stated, \u201cWe have concluded that the only responsible decision is to postpone the 2020 festival until later in the year.&nbsp;While we are heart-broken to have to make this decision, our first priority must be the health and safety of our community, our attendees, our supporters, and our filmmakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets and passes will be honored at the rescheduled Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is our intention to present the full slate of exceptional films, speakers, and panels at a later date when the festival may be held under conditions deemed safe by governmental and health authorities,\u201d stated Reardon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No specific dates are currently announced for the rescheduled festival.
