In 2019, MOUMS\ncontributed nearly $30,000 in community funding to six local children\u2019s health\nand wellness programs: <strong>Baptist Cancer\nCenter<\/strong>, <strong>Doors of Hope Transition\nMinistries<\/strong>, <strong>the Gordon Community and\nCultural Center<\/strong>, <strong>Oxford Community\nMarket<\/strong>, <strong>Oxford School District<\/strong>,\nand the <strong>University of Mississippi<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Department of Nutrition and Hospitality\nManagement<\/strong>. Funding decisions were made by MOUMS\u2019s eight board members: <strong>John T. Edge<\/strong>, <strong>Mac Nichols<\/strong>, <strong>Kelly English<\/strong>,\n<strong>Afton Thomas<\/strong>, <strong>Eleanor Green<\/strong>, <strong>Glenn Aquino<\/strong>,\n<strong>Mariana Jurss<\/strong>, and <strong>Janae Owens<\/strong>. MOUMS looks forward to\nchampioning more quality programs throughout the state in 2020\u20132021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any\nMississippi nonprofit organization, public school, government entity, or\nprogram sponsored by a qualifying organization and working to positively impact\nthe health and wellness of the state\u2019s children and youth is eligible to submit\na proposal to the foundation\u2019s competitive grant process on or before March 1,\n2020. MOUMS is especially interested in applicants whose programs are intentionally\ninclusive, provide measurable results, and focus on children and families. In\nthis grant cycle and beyond, the foundation hopes to expand its support of\norganizations throughout Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application\nmaterials can be requested by emailing the project manager at\ngrants@moveonupms.org. Complete proposals must be received by email or mail in\nPDF form on or postmarked by March 1, 2020.
