{"id":83847,"date":"2019-12-19T18:36:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-20T00:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=83847"},"modified":"2020-01-29T18:42:33","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T00:42:33","slug":"oxford-mississippi-man-arrested-for-domestic-violence-after-standoff-with-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/oxford-mississippi-man-arrested-for-domestic-violence-after-standoff-with-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford, Mississippi Man Arrested for Domestic Violence After Standoff with Police"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Monday, December 16, 2019, at approximately 1:30 am, officers with the <strong>Oxford Police Department<\/strong> responded the emergency department at <strong>Baptist Memorial Hospital \u2013 North Mississippi<\/strong> for a person who had a non-life threatening gunshot wound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 2:00 am, the suspect, <strong>Jodie Jacobs<\/strong> (36 of <strong>Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>) was located at his residence at <strong>Countryview Village<\/strong> off of <strong>Anchorage Road<\/strong>. Officers set up around the house and began negotiating his safe surrender. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oxford Police Department Crisis Negotiators were able to talk Jacobs safely out of the house at 6:40 AM. He was taken into custody without further incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jacobs has been charged with domestic violence \u2013 aggravated assault and is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
