An officer located the vehicle as it entered the city limits and attempted to stop the vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver failed to stop and continued on. The driver eventually tried driving through grass and got stuck. He then bailed out of the vehicle and after a short foot pursuit the driver, identified as <strong>Jonathan Johnson<\/strong> (36 of <strong>Tupelo, Mississippi<\/strong>), was caught and arrested. A firearm was located in the vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Johnson was transported to Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, careless driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving with a suspended driver\u2019s license, running a stop sign, no insurance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Once at the jail officers discovered that he had a warrant with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
