The exhibit opened to the public the day following the Museum\u2019s first-ever Gala celebrating its first recipient of the Crossroads of American Music award\u2014 <strong>Charley Pride<\/strong>. The exhibit is open now through August 23, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to country music, women have always been a part of the genre\u2014from the <strong>Carter Family<\/strong> and <strong>Kitty Wells<\/strong> to <strong>Tammy Wynette<\/strong>, <strong>Patsy Cline<\/strong>, <strong>Dolly Parton<\/strong>, <strong>Alison Krauss<\/strong>, <strong>Faith Hill<\/strong>, <strong>Trisha Yearwood<\/strong>, <strong>Carrie Underwood<\/strong>, <strong>The Dixie Chicks<\/strong>, <strong>Taylor Swift<\/strong>, <strong>Maren Morris<\/strong>, <strong>Kacey Musgraves<\/strong>, <strong>Brandi Carlile<\/strong>, and more. Affiliated with the <strong>Recording AcademyTM<\/strong>, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is dedicated to exploring the past, present, and future of music, and the cultural context from which it emerges, while casting a focused spotlight on the deep musical roots of Mississippi.
