The concert, which is free and open to the public, is set for 7:30 pm on Monday, November 11<\/strong>, which is Veterans Day<\/strong>, at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe event provides an opportunity to show appreciation to all military servicemen and servicewomen,\u201d said Don Trott<\/strong>, UM director of choral activities. \u201cI think it is important to offer this program on Veterans Day, as the nation steps back to pay tribute to these wonderful soldiers who have sacrificed for our freedom in so many ways,\u201d Trott said. \u201cOur concert will be full of enjoyable, traditional patriotic music and have recognition for our local veterans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trott and the organizers are looking for photos of local veterans to use in a \u201cScroll of Honor\u201d that will be featured during the concert. Members of the Lafayette-Oxford-University community are encouraged to send pictures of their friends and loved ones who are veterans, along with the veteran\u2019s name, rank and branch of service, to Trott at dtrott@olemiss.edu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trott is producing the event with help from Elizabeth Hearn<\/strong>, assistant professor of choral music, and Selim Giray<\/strong>, associate professor of music.
