This is the sequel to <strong><em>Porches and Private Eyes<\/em><\/strong>, which screened in Oxford in 2016 to an enthusiastic crowd. The special screening at <strong>Malco Studio Cinema<\/strong> on August 6 is sponsored by the <strong>Oxford Film Festival<\/strong> and will be followed by a Q&amp;A with writer\/director Travis Mills and select cast members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gossip-loving ladies from the first film return for more family-friendly adventures in <em>If These Porches Could Talk<\/em>. This time around, our three leading ladies take the mystery on the road, investigating the supernatural from <strong>Hattiesburg<\/strong> to <strong>Natchez<\/strong> and even making an appearance at the <strong>Witch\u2019s Grave<\/strong> in <strong>Yazoo City<\/strong>. They are joined by an ensemble cast of Mississippi\u2019s best talent including newcomers <strong>Bill Perkins<\/strong>, <strong>Martha Arrington<\/strong>, and Oxford filmmaker\/actor <strong>Damon Burks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wACiTQ1nUvs\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If These Porches Could Talk<\/em> premieres in <strong>Brookhaven<\/strong>, where the story is primarily set, on August 2 followed by a theatrical tour around the state which includes Oxford (August 6), <strong>Vicksburg<\/strong> (August 10), <strong>Madison<\/strong> (August 22), and <strong>Hattiesburg<\/strong> (August 30). More release dates will be<br> announced soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The film was written and directed by Mississippi-based filmmaker Travis Mills, who has produced six feature films to date in Mississippi. With a focus on local stories, Mills has showcased the history of Mississippi in movies such as the Lawrence County-centered <strong><em>Blood Country<\/em><\/strong>, the Dixie<br> Mafia tale <strong><em>Cornbread Cosa Nostra<\/em><\/strong>, and this recent Vicksburg-set <strong><em>Son of a Gun<\/em><\/strong>.
