Lakyn Gibson<\/strong> will represent Oxford in the\u00a070th<\/strong> Miss Hospitality Competition<\/strong> at the Historic Hattiesburg Saenger Theater<\/strong> in downtown Hattiesburg on July 26\u2013-27 at 8 pm each evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lakyn Gibson, daughter of Lisa Sanders<\/strong>, graduated from The University of Mississippi<\/strong> in May with a degree in criminal justice and emphasis in law enforcement. Lakyn is currently an intern for the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Department<\/strong>. Lakyn plans to attend graduate school at The University of Mississippi in the fall. After graduate school, she plans to work for the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its 22nd year as host city, Hattiesburg will showcase this year\u2019s best and brightest young women as they compete for the title of Mississippi\u2019s Miss Hospitality. More than forty women, who represent all regions of the state, will vie for the title of Mississippi\u2019s Miss Hospitality, with the winner serving for a full year as the state\u2019s official ambassador for economic development and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second year, the Mississippi Miss Hospitality Competition has added a Little Miss Hospitality <\/strong>component. Each local representative has selected a young girl between the ages of 6 and 10 from her hometown to mentor throughout her reign. Little Misses will appear on stage during competition and be invited to official events. If crowned the next Mississippi Miss Hospitality, the contestant\u2019s Little Miss will be able to serve alongside her as she fulfills her duties and responsibilities as Mississippi\u2019s Goodwill Ambassador.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amelia Roeder<\/strong> will serve as Oxford\u2019s Little Miss Hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
