Name:<\/strong> Jones Family Farm; run by Robert and Jordan Jones with the help of their one-year-old daughter, Reagan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hometown:<\/strong> Jordan was raised in a small town around Columbus, Ohio; Rob grew up in Greenville, Mississippi. We met in Southaven, Miss., and we\u2019ve been together ever since!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What brought you to the area?<\/strong> Rob is a full-time student at Ole Miss; we had been praying for a long time to find somewhere to build a farm and family nearby and ended up in Water Valley!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you a full time farmer?<\/strong> Both Rob & I are full time farmers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you get started in agriculture?<\/strong> I started my first garden after my parents\u2019 divorce to help put food on the table; Rob has always enjoyed working hard, so\u00a0farming was always a good way to see hard work pay off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s a day on the farm like?<\/strong> We get up at 5 to go pick, get Reagan up, and make breakfast, then either go to markets or produce stands to sell some fresh produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the best thing about working on your farm?<\/strong> Being able to spend time and work as a family, as well as the flexibility that you don\u2019t get from a typical 9 to 5 job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are you most looking forward to this season?<\/strong> Just being able to serve the community with good produce that I\u2019m also happy with feeding to my family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite crop?<\/strong> Reagan\u2019s is tomatoes, Jordan\u2019s is the peppers, Rob\u2019s favorite is watermelons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite music to farm to?<\/strong> We love the Bobby Bone\u2019s podcast show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever dug up (or found) anything interesting? We found an old marble, and about two weeks ago, we found a fitting to a old mule hitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Name an uncommon vegetable that people should try: <\/strong>Ghost peppers, new to our farm this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there anything you\u2019d like to see change about the way food is consumed in our community? <\/strong>Absolutely! Most people don\u2019t realize where their food comes from, so general education and getting in touch with local farmers to know more about fresh wholesome food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Name one piece of equipment you could not live without: <\/strong>Transplanter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us one thing you\u2019ve learned that you didn\u2019t know when you first started farming:<\/strong> I\u2019ve learned a lot about cattle and how they benefit growing a farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the best meal you\u2019ve ever eaten?<\/strong> It\u2019s so hard to choose since we eat so good on a daily basis!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
